When we think of wellness most individuals focus more heavily in one element than another. Some individuals are more about their spiritual wellness than their physical. While other individuals spend more time on their mental wellness than their financial wellness. Holistic wellness is seeing the big picture from all 10 elements of wellness: our emotional, spiritual, mental, physical, social, financial, social, environmental wellness and our quality of life can be affected as they all interact with each other on a daily basis. The pandemic has forced many individuals to stay at home from work or have to work from home. The affects of our quality of life can be immensely affected by our environment. People are working over time now that they have to work from home, because they don’t know when to shut off and create boundaries. Mothers who have to watch their children during virtual school are having to be teachers. Our children don’t have lunch or recess time with their friends which affects their social wellness. There is a domino affect on every level of wellness. This is why holistic wellness during a pandemic is necessary for every person to have a better balance of their overall heath. Applying holistic wellness during the pandemic is probably the most necessary work that we have to do for ourselves, our family, and our community.
