    04% of cases, NPDR in 17.11% of cases, PDR in 1.01% of cases, DME in 4.81% of cases, and PDR with DME in 0.11% of cases. Conclusions The presented study is the first Polish study on the prevalence of diabetic retinopathy presenting a large group of patients, and its results could be extrapolated to the whole country. Diabetic retinopathy was found in 25.48% of patients in the whole experimental group. The above results place Poland within the European average, indicating the quality of diabetic care offered in Poland, based on the number of observed complications.BACKGROUND In patients with neuromuscular disorder, only little data of myalgia frequency and characterization exists. To date, only a weak correlation between pain intensity and pressure pain threshold has been found, and it remains enigmatic whether high pain intensity levels are equivalent to high pain sensitivity levels in neuromuscular disorders. METHODS 30 sequential patients with suspected neuromuscular disorder and myalgia were analyzed with regard to myalgia characteristics and clinical findings, including symptoms of depression and anxiety and pain- threshold. RESULTS A neuromuscular disorder was diagnosed in 14/30 patients. Muscular pain fasciculation syndrome (MPFS) without evidence for myopathy or myositis was diagnosed in 10/30 patients and 6/30 patients were diagnosed with pure myalgia without evidence for a neuromuscular disorder (e.g., myopathy, myositis, MPFS, polymyalgia rheumatica). Highest median pain scores were found in patients with pure myalgia and polymyalgia rheumatica. Pressure pain threshold measurement showed a significant difference between patients and controls in the biceps brachii muscle. CONCLUSION Only a weak correlation between pain intensity and pressure pain threshold has been suggested, which is concordant with our results. The hypothesis that high pain intensity levels are equivalent to high pain sensitivity levels was not demonstrated.Waterproof-breathable (WB) materials with outstanding waterproofness, breathability, and mechanical performance are critical in diverse consumer applications. Electrospun nanofibrous membranes with thin fiber diameters, small pore sizes, and high porosity have attracted significant attention in the WB fabric field. Hot-press treatment technology can induce the formation of inter-fiber fusion structures and hence improve the waterproofness and mechanical performance. By combining electrospinning and hot-press treatment technology, polyurethane/fluorinated polyurethane/thermoplastic polyurethane/alkylsilane-functionalized graphene (PU/FPU/TPU/FG) nanofiber WB fabric was fabricated. Subsequently, the morphologies, porous structure, hydrostatic pressure, water vapor transmission rate (WVTR), and stress-strain behavior of the nanofiber WB fabric were systematically investigated. The introduction of the hydrophobic FG sheet structure and the formation of the inter-fiber fusion structure greatly improved not only the waterproofness but also the mechanical performance of the nanofiber WB fabric. The optimized PU/FPU/TPU-50/FG-1.5 WB fabric exhibited an excellent comprehensive performance a high hydrostatic pressure of 80.4 kPa, a modest WVTR of 7.6 kg m-2 d-1, and a robust tensile stress of 127.59 MPa, which could be used to achieve various applications. This work not only highlights the preparation of materials, but also provides a high-performance nanofiber WB fabric with huge potential application prospects in various fields.Deubiquitinases (DUBs) are involved in various cellular functions. They deconjugate ubiquitin (UBQ) from ubiquitylated substrates to regulate their activity and stability. Studies on the roles of deubiquitylation have been conducted in various cancers to identify the carcinogenic roles of DUBs. In this review, we evaluate the biological roles of DUBs in cancer, including proliferation, cell cycle control, apoptosis, the DNA damage response, tumor suppression, oncogenesis, and metastasis. This review mainly focuses on the regulation of different downstream effectors and pathways via biochemical regulation and posttranslational modifications. We summarize the relationship between DUBs and human cancers and discuss the potential of DUBs as therapeutic targets for cancer treatment. This review also provides basic knowledge of DUBs in the development of cancers and highlights the importance of DUBs in cancer biology.Wireless capsule endoscopy (WCE) has been widely used in gastrointestinal (GI) diagnosis that allows the physicians to examine the interior wall of the human GI tract through a pain-free procedure. However, there are still several limitations of the technology, which limits its functionality, ultimately limiting its wide acceptance. Its counterpart, the wired endoscopic system is a painful procedure that demotivates patients from going through the procedure, and adversely affects early diagnosis. Furthermore, the current generation of capsules is unable to automate the detection of abnormality. As a result, physicians are required to spend longer hours to examine each image from the endoscopic capsule for abnormalities, which makes this technology tiresome and error-prone. Early detection of cancer is important to improve the survival rate in patients with colorectal cancer. Hence, a fluorescence-imaging-based endoscopic capsule that automates the detection process of colorectal cancer was designed and developed in our lab. The proof of concept of this endoscopic capsule was tested on porcine intestine and liquid phantom. The proposed WCE system offers great possibilities for future applicability in selective and specific detection of other fluorescently labelled cancers.Sintering solidification is an effective way to treat soil contaminated with nonvolatile heavy metal. The ceramsite prepared from contaminated soil after sintering can be used as lightweight aggregate in concrete. The preparation process of ceramsite can be divided into two steps granulation and sintering. As one of the key processes, granulation is directly related to the final solidification and physical properties of ceramsite, and the properties of the clay are directly related to the granulation process. In this work, clays from different regions granulated with disc granulation were studied and compared. The results showed that different clays had significantly different performances in granulation with the same granulation system, and each clay had its own best process parameter. The significance analysis showed that the volume surface mean diameter and the reduction ratio had the most significant impact on the granulated fraction among all the factors. No matter which process parameter was used, as the particle size increased, the granulated fraction increased first and then decreased, and the best results were obtained when the average volume diameter was about 20.5 µm. Furthermore, as the reduction ratio increased, the granulated fraction decreased. These two factors are easy to measure and can be used for predicting the granulation effect of different clays, which can further guide industrial production.The Transylvanian region of Romania is a place of rich history since ancient times, where the original natural environment around architectural heritage sites or buildings has not been severely altered by urban development. Unfortunately, many such places are left by the authorities to degrade or totally collapse for lack of funds, vision or initiatives. The current paper addresses the potential of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) in the assessment of a viable and feasible prospect of restoration on a 19th century mansion that belonged to a nobiliary family. UAV use is rising in many industries and has become very popular in the last decade, but for survey engineering and related domains they represent a quantum leap in technology. Integrating UAV-acquired data and structure from motion software, has enabled modern techniques to obtain useful metrics from the field, accurate photorealistic 3D models for visual inspection, structural damage analyses, architectural rehabilitation-restoration, conservation and spatial analysis of the surrounding area. In this work a socio-cultural planning and design process is explored and presented to improve the local community and inclusion in a tourist circuit based on the regional potential, as well as an evaluation of accessibility derived from a vector-raster database that highlights the central position of the cultural heritage in regards to the axis of circulation between the important metropolitan areas and the local tourist attractions. This study aimed to establish age effects on energy intake, appetite, gastric emptying, blood glucose, and gut hormones in response to protein-rich drinks. In a randomized double-blind, order, 13 older men (age 75 ± 2 yrs, body mass index (BMI) 26 ± 1 kg/m2) and 13 younger (23 ± 1 yrs, 24 ± 1 kg/m2) men consumed (i) a control drink (~2 kcal) or drinks (450 mL) containing protein/fat/carbohydrate (ii) 70 g/0 g/0 g (280 kcal/’P280′), (iii) 14 g/12.4 g/28 g (280 kcal/’M280′), (iv) 70 g/12.4 g/28 g (504 kcal/’M504′), on four separate days. Appetite (visual analog scales), gastric emptying (3D ultrasonography), blood glucose, plasma insulin, ghrelin, cholecystokinin (CCK), glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) concentrations (0-180 min), and ad-libitum energy intake (180-210 min) were determined. Older men, compared to younger men, had higher fasting glucose and CCK concentrations and lower fasting GLP-1 concentrations (all p less then 0.05). Energy intake by P280 compared to control was less suppressed in older men (increase 49 ± 42 kcal) than it was in younger men (suppression 100 ± 54 kcal, p = 0.038). After the caloric drinks, the suppression of hunger and the desire to eat, and the stimulation of fullness was less (p less then 0.05), and the stimulation of plasma GLP-1 was higher (p less then 0.05) in older men compared to younger men. Gastric emptying, glucose, insulin, ghrelin, and CCK responses were similar between age groups. In conclusion, ageing reduces the responses of caloric drinks on hunger, the desire to eat, fullness, and energy intake, and protein-rich nutrition supplements may be an effective strategy to increase energy intake in undernourished older people.The performance of the regional water environment integrated governance is affected by many factors. This study took place in Henan Province, China, as the research area, and constructed an index system through the comprehensive consideration of three target layers based on the Ecological-Social-Economic (ESE) framework. Due to advantages such as strong objectivity and operability, the improved entropy-weight technique for the order of preference by similarity to the ideal solution (TOPSIS) model can greatly overcome subjective human interference and render the evaluation results more reliable. Therefore, it was introduced to evaluate the water environment integrated governance in Henan from 2007 to 2016. By applying the obstacle degree model, the obstacle factors were then diagnosed. The results of this study show that the overall performance of the integrated governance was generally improved in Henan from 2007 to 2016. Performance levels of the three target layers exhibited different trends, of which the social and economic benefits presented a linear increase year by year, but the ecological benefits presented a fluctuating downward trend.
